EXPND — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
EXPND ("the app") is a personal finance tracker built to be private by
design. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your
information. In short: your financial data never leaves your
device unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.
Data we collect
None is sent to us. We (the developer) operate no servers
and receive no data from the app. Everything you enter — accounts,
transactions, budgets, savings goals, notes, and receipt photos — is stored
locally on your device only.
How your data is stored
- Financial records are saved in a local on-device database.
- Receipt photos you attach are copied into the app's private storage on your device.
- Preferences (currency, theme, budget, biometric-lock setting) are stored locally.
- Nothing is transmitted over the network. The app functions fully offline.
Device permissions
- Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint): optional,
used only to unlock the app on your device. Biometric data is handled
entirely by your operating system; the app never sees or stores it.
- Photos / camera roll: used only when you choose to attach
a receipt image to a transaction. The app accesses only the image you pick.
- Clipboard: read only when you tap "Scan" to auto-fill an
amount from copied text. Clipboard contents are processed on-device and
never transmitted.
Data sharing
We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to anyone. There are no
third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.
Export and deletion
- You can export your transactions to a CSV file at any time via
Profile → Data → Export. Where that file goes is up to you.
- You can permanently erase all data via Profile → Data → Clear All
Data, or by uninstalling the app.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal
information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a
revised "Last updated" date.
